Print Finishes Designed to Make Your Brand Stand Out

The finish is the part people feel. A gloss coat, a soft-touch laminate, a foiled logo or a blind emboss changes how a piece is picked up and how long it is kept, and every one of them happens in our own bindery.

What print finishes are and why they matter

The Part People Feel.

Print finishes are the techniques applied after printing to improve how a piece looks, how long it lasts and how it feels in the hand. They can highlight a logo, add texture to the paper, create a unique shape or bind the pages together. At Lawton Connect, every one of them happens in our own bindery.

Laser cutting

Cut by Light.

A laser follows the artwork line for line and cuts what a steel die cannot: hairline detail and tight curves, at any quantity. Scroll, and it runs.

Common questions about specialty finishing

What is the difference between UV coating and spot UV?

UV coating is a glossy protective coat over the whole surface. Spot UV applies gloss only to selected areas, like a logo or an image, to add contrast.

What is the difference between embossing and debossing?

Embossing presses a design up out of the paper so it is raised. Debossing presses it down into the paper, creating recessed depth.

Can finishes be added to digital printing?

Yes. Specialty finishes can be applied to pieces printed digitally or offset.

Is finishing done in-house?

Yes. Folding, binding, coating, foil, embossing and die cutting all happen in our own bindery.
